Comparative Tracking Index
CTI is the abbreviation of Comparative Tracking Index which is decided by means of Tracking-Resistance Testing. The "Tracking" means the phenomenon that the part in the surface of insulation material become carbonizing conducting electricity track because of voltage which causes insulation material lose insultating features. The "Tracking Resistance" is the resisting action to "Tracking". |
|||||||||
CTI is based on the testing method stipulated in IEC-112, similar to UL-746A and ASTM3638. Testing procedure as per following:
1) Put the sample between the two electric poles where they have a distance of 4mm apart
2) Drip 50 drops of 0.1% NH4HCL solution on the sample
3) The value of the CTI is defined by the largest value of
voltage used that does not cause "Tracking" |

Flame Retardant Tape | |||||||||
Flame-retardant tape is made of a material which has advanced self-extinguishing properties, thus making it highly resistant to flame. When subjected to strong flame, the rate of combustion is lower and the spread of burn is slower than how ordinary tape does. |
